Anna Popplewell & Katelyn Rose Downey Join the Cast Of 'THE NUN 2'
That pesky demon Valak will return in The Nun 2 being directed by Michael Chaves (Curse of La Llorona, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), and Deadline brings us more casting news today.
Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia franchise) and Katelyn Rose Downey (Clean Sweep) have joined the cast of the James Wan-produced sequel, which is filming now.
Taissa Farmiga will be back as Sister Irene, with Bonnie Aarons again playing the demonic nun known as Valak. Storm Reid (“Euphoria”) will be leading the sequel’s cast.
The Nun 2 will arrive in theaters on September 8, 2023.
Here’s the first The Nun 2 plot synopsis: “1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit THE NUN follows SISTER IRENE as she once again comes face to face with the demonic force VALAK – THE DEMON NUN.”
It’s no surprise that The Nun would get a sequel as it pulled in a whopping $365 million at the worldwide box office, all but insuring that we’d get a visit from Valak one more time.
