Sci-Fi Novella, "STATION GRAND" Examines The Darkness Orbiting Earth (EXCLUSIVE)

It’s been said that “Space is the final frontier,” but with all the cosmic horror in books, films, television, and comics, we aren’t so sure that outer space is our final destination. While some in our current administration are having a pissing contest with rockets while normal folks struggle to make ends meet, the desire to go to space seems far out of reach, and perhaps that’s a good thing. Or at least that’s what “Station Grand,” the newest graphic novella from Xeric Grant-awarded and Ignatz Award-nominated writer Craig Hurd-McKenney and acclaimed illustrator Noah Bailey (“Double Walker,” “Wonder Woman: Black and Gold”) are leading us to believe.

The synopsis for the book is as compelling as it is creepy…

Dr. Michael Kinney is light years from Earth, overseeing the terraformation of Venus. Michael is all alone, save for the computer which keeps him company during the 272 day-long orbit from night to day around the sun. And during this time, there is no contact with Mission Control.

With his circadian rhythms disrupted by his extended stay in deep space, his insomnia peaks. Reality as he knows it comes into question. As Michael struggles to finish his mission, what he thinks he knows will collide with the existential mysteries of the universe: Who am I? Why am I here? Am I alone? Why is this happening to me?

There is enough existential dread to go around these days, and adding insomnia and space into the mix feels like a potent cocktail of hallucinogenic horror and psychological torment, so naturally we want to know more! Thanks to our friends at Superfan Promotions, we are pleased to share some exclusive pages from the novella as it hits online and in-store shelves on April 8, 2025!
