Dead Or Alive, You’re Coming To Work!

Poor Murphy, dude gets blown to bits and STILL has to go into work afterward. Well, that’s a simplification of the classic story of ROBOCOP. Teyon has brought their upcoming RoboCop: Rogue City to Gamescom, complete with a brand new gameplay trailer. In addition, IGN has snagged an expanded 16 minutes of gameplay footage for those eager to see Alex Murphy laying down the law that includes an appearance of several ED-209s.

The Rogue City gameplay trailer opens with the series’ iconic newsbreaks, telling the viewer how crime-ridden Detroit has become. while also questioning how safe it is to put trust in a machine for safety. The trailer then cuts to police psychologist Dr. Olivia Blanche interviewing RoboCop as part of dealing with those officers “suffering from emotional trauma”. Interspersed are quick glimpses of gameplay, showing the player RoboCop’s capabilities in police work, such as tracking a blood trail or sees quick cuts of RoboCop (voiced by Peter Weller, naturally) using his cybernetics to follow a blood trail, determining a short circuit and more.

RoboCop: Rogue City is currently slated for a September 2023 release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. And if you can’t wait, check out the first part of the RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop series on SCREAMBOX beginning August 29th.
