"RICK AND MORTY" Co-Creator And Star Justin Roiland Facing Domestic Battery And False Imprisonment Charges!

Rick And Morty Co-Creator Justin Roiland is in a heap of legal trouble in California. An Orange county court is charging him with felony domestic violence. The report, as shared by NBC News, reveals the case dates back to May 2020 after a criminal complaint was filed against the actor. Roiland appeared in court earlier today for a pre-trial hearing.

From what we have learned, Roiland was handed a criminal complaint in 2023 for a felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and another felony count for false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, and/or deceit. NBC News says Roiland pleaded not guilty in 2020, and his team did not respond for comment when approached.

Those are some hefty charges…

At the time of this writing, the identity to Roiland’s victim has remained private but we do know that Roiland was placed on a restraining order to stay at least 100ft away from this Jane Doe. This order lasts through October 2023 at present.

Orange County Superior Court records do show Roiland pleaded not guilty to both felony charges in 2020. This came after the co-creator was arrested in August 2020 and arraigned two months later.

If you’re not too familiar with Rick and Morty, Roiland is the voice actor behind both characters on the Adult Swim show which just completed its sixth season for the network. Adult Swim has not commented on the ongoing legal case. Season seven is currently in the works so we’ll see what ends up being the conclusion of this story soon.
