'BEETLEJUICE 2' Is 99% Filmed Says Tim Burton

Sequels. They can go either amazingly well or horribly wrong. Fans are hoping for the former as TIM BURTON or as we like to call him around here “Daddy Goth”, has just let it out that BEETLEJUICE 2 is 99% filmed!

The folks over at The Independent got the first word on the subject of where the production was at for BEETLEJUICE 2.

I feel grateful we got what we got,” Burton told The Independent in a new interview. “Literally, it was a day and a half. We know what we have to do. It is 99 per cent done.”

Burton also tells the outlet, “On this last one, Beetlejuice 2, I really enjoyed it. I tried to strip everything and go back to the basics of working with good people and actors and puppets. It was kind of like going back to why I liked making movies.”

Beetlejuice 2 is scheduled to haunt theaters on September 6, 2024, although the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes could delay its release.

Stay tuned for more as we learn it.

Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday,” Scream VI) is joining Michael Keaton in the long-awaited sequel, with Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara both returning.

Monica Bellucci (Irreversible) will be playing Beetlejuice’s wife!

No word yet on plot details, but it’s known that Jenna Ortega will be playing the daughter of Lydia Deetz, the character Winona Ryder is of course returning to play.
