Bloody SCREAM Trailer Carves Up The Past To Bring On The Future!

The SCREAM trailer has finally been released and now we know what the plot revolves around: Ghostface is targeting relatives of the original legacy characters.

This fifth installment to the franchise is not a spinoff or reboot but a fully canonized effort bringing stars, Neve Campbell(Sidney), David Arquette(Dewey) and Courtney Cox(Gale) back for one more SCREAM!

Here’s the just-released official synopsis:

“Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.”

Scream is this time directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and produced by Chad Villella of the filmmaking group Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S, Southbound) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery, Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, Castle Rock).

The new ensemble includes Jack Quaid (“The Boys”), Melissa Barrera (“In The Heights”) and Jenna Ortega (“You”), with Dylan Minnette (Goosebumps), Mason Gooding (Let It Snow), Kyle Gallner (Ghosts of War), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Love”) and Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).

Scream returns to theaters on January 14, 2022.
