Darren Aronofsky Teases He's Working On A 'BLACK SWAN' Musical
Back in 2010, director Darren Aronofsky had a major hit on his hands with the Natalie Portman starring , psychological mind-fuck of a film ‘Black Swan’. The film danced its way to a $329 million box-office pull and even winning an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Portman). The flick even garnered a Oscar nomination in 2011. This was major considering the film is indeed a horror movie and those are usually snubbed by The Academy.
Now, we are more than 10yrs removed from the film and Darren Aronofsky teases in a chat with The A.V. Club that he’s working on bringing Black Swan to the stage with a musical based on his 2010 movie.
“We’re trying to do the Black Swan musical,” Aronofsky tells the outlet.
He continues, “We’ll see what happens. But we’re working on it.”
In Black Swan…
“A committed dancer (Natalie Portman) struggles to maintain her sanity after winning the lead role in a production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.”
Portman starred alongside Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder, and Barbara Hershey.
We’ll bring you more as it develops.
