Final Season of "STRANGER THINGS" Put On Hold Due To WGA Strike
The creators behind Netflix’s hit show “STRANGER THINGS” issed a statement over the weekend in regards to the ongoing WGA strike for fair wages.
Production on Stranger Things 5 was just about to start as well.
The Duffer Brothers state: “Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then — over and out. #wgastrong.”
The gist of the WGA strike, which began earlier this week, is that writers in Hollywood are asking for fair wages. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, meanwhile, is pushing back against the extremely reasonable requests, bringing Hollywood to a standstill. And at this time, nobody has any idea how long it will take to reach a necessary resolution.
Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then -- over and out. #wgastrong
