Looks like we won’t have to wait too long to see Ghostface return to the big screen, as Paramount has just announced the official released date for SCREAM 6 via their Twitter account this morning. The next installment in the famed slasher franchise is expected to release in theaters on March 31, 2023.

Paramount Pictures confirmed the release date for the sixth SCREAM installment on their Twitter this morning.

The release date comes fresh off the heels of Courtney Cox’s confirming to Just for Variety With Marc Malkin podcast this week that she will be returning for the sixth installment, also mentioning that principal photography will likely start in June in Canada. Besides Cox, no additional casting confirmations have yet been made, and plot details are still under wraps.

The next installment is expected to bring back the team from 2022’s SCREAM, including directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, as well as writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

In a joint statement back in February 2022, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group announced they would be pushing forward with a sixth SCREAM film, following the success of 2022’s SCREAM:  "We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film, we can't wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie & Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family."

The previous SCREAM opened in theaters on January 14, 2022, raking in $81 million in the US and $140 million worldwide. You can currently watch 2022’s SCREAM, along with all four previous films, on Paramount+
