'HEREDITARY' Actress Ann Dowd Joins the First Movie in Blumhouse’s ‘THE EXORCIST’ Trilogy
Blumhouse is tackling one of Horror most beloved franchises, ‘THE EXORCIST’ and bringing us a trilogy of new films concentrated in that universe in the coming years. David Gordan Green (Halloween 2018) is set to usher in this new trilogy for Blumhouse and Universal.
THR reports this afternoon that Ann Dowd (Hereditary) is the latest actor to join the cast of the upcoming The Exorcist sequel.
Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Knives Out 2) will star in the new Exorcist trilogy, the first of which is confirmed to be directed by Gordon Green. And Ellen Burstyn is back as Chris MacNeil.

The first film in the trilogy will be released theatrically on October 13, 2023.
The first plot details we were provided with last year tease, “Odom Jr. will play the father of a possessed child. Desperate for help, he tracks down Ms. Burstyn’s character.”
