M. Night Shyamalan Coming In Hot With New Deal At WARNER BRO. Plus New Film 'TRAP' For 2024

The times they are a changing. For years director M. Night Shyamalan was a staple at Universal Pictures but as of yesterday that all changes. Deadline reports tonight that M. Night Shyamalan has signed a multi-year first-look directing and producing agreement with Warner Bros.

This is major news for the director as it opens the door for new possibilities as well as a fresh new stock of talent to help him mold his creations.

Deadline’s report continues, “Under the new agreement, Shyamalan and his Philadelphia-based production company Blinding Edge Pictures, run by president of production Ashwin Rajan, will develop original projects for the filmmaker to produce and/or direct for WBPG production divisions Warner Bros Pictures and New Line Cinema.”

First things first though, Shyamalan has a new film entitled ‘TRAP’ which already has a release date of August 2, 2024.

No plot details have yet to be revealed but we know we’ll be hearing something soon.

“Blinding Edge will continue to ramp up production with an eye to finding auteur-driven genre projects.”

“Where I write and direct is my home,” says Shyamalan. “Disney and Universal, where I’ve made most of my films, will always be home and family to me. Warner Bros. has a storied history of cinema. Through its recent experiences, the company has rediscovered its love and appreciation for filmmakers, and the impact of the theatrical experience. We all win when movies succeed in theaters. I believe David Zaslav, Michael De Luca, and Pam Abdy have dedicated themselves to unique filmmakers, and to filling theaters all around the world for years to come.”

We’ll bring you more as it develops.
