Since 2006, TEXAS FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND has been scaring things up in the “Lone Star State” and there is no signs it will be stopping anytime soon. This convention is a must for die-hard horror fans as it has been the driving force for the horror community in Texas for decades. Rare and hard-to-find prints, posters, films, and memorabilia are sold at Texas Frightmare Weekend with many walking away happy with their purchases but sad about their bank accounts. Texas is the reason…horror is still number 1. Tickets are now on sale and can be found HERE!
DATES: May 23-25, 2025

5. MIDSUMMER SCREAM
Long Beach, California can be scary all by itself but the folks over at Midsummer Scream welcome all the shrieks when they take over the Long Beach Convention Center. This con is geared more toward haunted houses and home haunts as well as theme park announcements from Universal Studios and Knott’s Berry Farm to name a few. We truly enjoy this con because so much home decor and accessories are sold at this show that we get all our yearly spooky shopping done in one spot. We highly recommend you get your tickets early for this one and those can be found HERE.
DATES: August 15-17, 2025
LOCATION: Long Beach Convention Center
6. CRYPTICON SEATTLE
The Pacific Northwest has a long history of weird sightings and odd creatures and the folks over at Crypticon Seattle know all about that as this con focuses on, you guess it, Cryptids. Those weird animals or creatures of myth/legend that people claim to have seen. Think Bigfoot and Loch Ness monster, those are “Cryptids” and two of the most famous but you’ll learn all about them and more if ya make your way up to Seattle, Washington. The event has tons of vendors, great panels, and a slew of cool meet-ups for like-minded folks. Tickets have been on sale for this event already and you will want to jump on these earlier prices as the cost will definitely go up as you get closer to the event. Tickets can be found HERE.
DATES: MAY 2-4, 2025

7. HORRORHOUND WEEKEND
2025 marks the 20th anniversary for HorrorHound Magazine and they know how to do things right up there in Ohio where the con takes place. This con is a must for fans on the East Coast as it is a must for collectors of memorabilia and has been the convention where many new horror films have been announced. The convention has always been a fun event and from what we have heard from other who have attended, every year is like a huge party/reunion of horror friends. One item of note for the 2025 edition of HorrorHound Weekend is a full TERRIFIER cast reunion that will definitely get tickets moving. Tickets are now on sale for this event and can be found HERE.

8. MONSTERPALOOZA
Starting as just a mask convention, Monsterpalooza has slowly morphed into the must-attend horror convention on the West Coast. Monsterpalooza originated on the East Coast, this is very true but made its real mark in Burbank when it changed its name from “Mask Con” to “MONSTERPALOOZA”. Tons of vendors, makeup and special effects demos, celebrity signings, a Saturday night concert, and tons of highly priced, highly desired horror items are all here at Monsterpalooza. This con is a beast and we have had the pleasure of attending every year it has taken place since 2014. Tickets are on sale now at a discount which you can get HERE.

9. MAD MONSTER PARTY
Taking its name from the 1967, clay animation film of the same name, “MAD MONSTER PARTY” was another touring horror convention for many years but is now in only one location for 2025. The list of celebrities is impressive this year and we’re sure we will hear some news about new films coming from it when it takes place in February. Tickets are already on sale and this is another con we guarantee will sell out early so you better jump on those tickets HERE.
DATES: February 21-23, 2025
LOCATION: EMBASSY SUITES BY HILTON | Concord, NC
10. SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON (SDCC)
SDCC has been the premier con for every fandom you can think of and horror is no exception. This is the big one, folks. As conventions go, this is “Thunderdome” and we mean that in the best way possible. Movie studios, actors, directors, comic artists, TV show panels, and more litter the San Diego Convention Center when SDCC happens. Horror has always had a major foothold on SDCC and some of the biggest and best reveals have been horror-related over the years coming out of SDCC. This con is a must but VERY difficult to get into. Tickets have been sold out for SDCC 2025 since about October of last year and you can only purchase tickets if you have a “Member ID” even then you have to wait to be randomly picked to buy tickets if you haven’t attended in the past. SDCC is a marathon of an event and not for the weak of will or heart so prepare accordingly. You can find out more about SDCC HERE.
DATES: July 23-27, 2025
