MID-JAN COMIC ROUND-UP: Something For All Tastes Leading Into February
As we enter a new year, we also introduce a new format! The sheer volume of amazing comics and graphic novels that are getting released is not only a comic fan’s dream, but also an embarrassment of diverse riches for all ages to enjoy. That’s why we’re introducing a new format to round-up comic news bi-monthly and share some of the exciting stories and characters coming alive on the page. The Toxic Avenger #4
Coming up in late January is issue 4 of Ahoy Comics’ Toxic Avenger, written by Matt Bors and artist Fred Harper. Starting in October 2024, Toxic Avenger has reached the penultimate issue in the 5-issue mini-series. As violent space aliens lurk nearby, Toxie battles Bonehead, a high-school-bully-turned-mutated-corporate-shill. Meanwhile, Yvonne starts to realise there is more happening than just a company soaking Tromaville’s in raging toxins.

The Ghost Whiskerers Graphic Novel
In early February Storm King is releasing their new graphic novel in the Storm Kids label. The Ghost Whiskerers, written and illustrated by Thomas F. Zahler (My Little Pony, Love and Capes). A young boy, Daniel, moves with his family into a mysterious house in Tacoma, Washington. If struggling to make friends in a new school wasn’t enough of a problem, he also discovers his new home is a portal to the afterlife. The two guardian cats (Mal and Halloween) need Daniel’s help when one ghost proves to be especially reluctant to move on peacefully.
Ghost Whiskerers – on sale from February 5.
Written for ages 8 and up, and is also physically sized for younger readers.
Dust To Dust #2 release date and reprint of #1.
The all-new thriller Dust to Dust, from the Giant Generator line at Image Comics, by creators JG Jones (Wanted) and Phil Bram, has sold out completely at the distributor level and is being rushed back to print this week to keep up with increasing demand. Read our review of issue #1.
In the darkest days of the Great Depression, death stalks the Dust Bowl. As towering dust storms blast the parched Oklahoma panhandle, farmers try to flee the failing town of New Hope, but no one gets far. Battling his own demons, Sheriff Meadows teams up with Sarah, a traveling photojournalist, in a desperate fight to stop the Death that rides the Dusters.
