"POPEYE'S REVENGE" (2025) Slashes Onto Amazon Prime Video Today (TRAILER)
Another year, another swath of public domain horror films hit the market, and this time it’s one we’ve seen before. As we previously reported back in January, “Popeye The Slayer Man” is set to hit theaters sometime in the first half of this year (and we will have an exciting interview with one of the stars, Sarah Nicklin) we know that good things come in pairs even if one gets there before the other one. Just barely 49 days into 2025, and ITN Studios, the folks behind the Twisted Childhood Universe have unleashed their spinach-induced slasher, “Popeye’s Revenge” onto the masses…or Amazon Prime Video. Fans of the cartoon be warned, this isn’t your childhood sailor man and seems to have a lot in common with, Jason Voorhees.
If you’re perplexed as to how the large-biceped Vitamin A fanatic can have something in common with a drowned young boy at a summer camp, check out the trailer below to see what we’re getting at. If we’re being honest, it doesn’t look bad, but it also doesn’t look like it’s doing anything much with the newly available character that is compelling enough to warrant more than vague interest. Still, we find ourselves getting a kick out of these movies even if they don’t all land the same and are eager to see what creative liberties are taken in service of horror!
