Second Sight Films Releasing Massive 4K Ultra HD Box Set For 'THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE'

Let’s face some facts here, Tobe Hooper’s 1974 slasher, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, turned the horror genre on its head. The film had a gritty-ness to it that few films, even by todays standards, can come close to. Now it seems our friends at Second Sight Films are honoring this horror must have with a brand new 4k UHD release of the film arriving on April 10th, 2023.

You might be wondering, wait a minute, Second Sight is a UK company, I don’t have a region free player! Never fear dear reader as this new 4k is of course REGION FREE (applause and cheers abound).

The highly anticipated Limited Edition 4K UHD/Blu-ray Box set comes complete with three discs: one UHD and two Blu-rays and in a brand-new presentation featuring additional restoration work. The UHD is presented in Dolby Vision HDR produced by Second Sight Films. Presented in a rigid box featuring stunning artwork, the release comes complete with a slew of special features and a 190-page hardback book. It arrives on 10 April 2023 and will also be available on Standard Edition 4K UHD and Standard Edition Blu-ray.

The film that redefined horror, tells the story of a group of five friends who take a road trip and find themselves at the mercy of a depraved Texan clan, among them one of the all-time horror icons, the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface – played by the inimitable Gunnar Hansen. It’s not long before their idyllic drive becomes a macabre nightmare...

On its 1974 release, the film shocked audiences to their core, caused outrage and was widely banned for many years. To this day, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has the power to strike fear into its victims, both old and new.
