Ti West's Third Movie In 'X' Trilogy Will Bring Mia Goth Back In 'MAXXXINE' [Video]

Last night at the Toronto International Film Festival, Ti West’s ‘PEARL’ which is a prequel to his hit A24 film, ‘X’, was shown during the film festivals midnight madness event. If you stuck around though, the film revealed the final chapter for what is being called Ti West’s ‘X’ trilogy entitled ‘MAXXXINE.’

Yep, we’ll see Maxine (Mia Goth) years after she survived the events of ‘X’ in this new film.

When Ti West was asked more about the film and its premise, he had this to say. “What I can tell you is that we’re going to catch up with Maxine. And we’re going to find out what she’s up to. The way that X is a movie that is informed by and affected by independent exploitation auteur Americana and 1970s cinema, and Pearl is perhaps affected by the Golden Age of Hollywood and the glitz and glamor of cinema, MaXXXine will be more about within the industry itself and the boom of VHS.”

The third movie “follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980’s Los Angeles.”

Three films that all intertwine to tell a brutal story? Sounds like fun to us.

Check out Pearl in theaters on September 16, 2022.

In Pearl, “Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. Lusting for a glamorous life like she’s seen in the movies, Pearl’s ambitions, temptations, and repressions all collide, in the stunning, technicolor-inspired origin story of X’s iconic villain.”

Pearl’s cast includes David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland, and Emma Jenkins-Purro, and the film was written by Ti West and Mia Goth.
