A24's "CRYSTAL LAKE" Reels In A New Showrunner!

The horror news cycle moves at a breakneck pace as it feels like only yesterday when we reported on A24’s “Crystal Lake” prequel series losing showrunner Bryan Fuller. At the time, confusion surrounded the decision as many fans were eager to see Fuller return to genre television after his outstanding work on shows like “Hannibal”. The good news for fans of grieving mothers and those who hate camp counselors is that not only is “Crystal Lake” still happening, but it is bringing in some serious showrunning firepower with Brad Caleb Kane now joining the production.

First reported on by Deadline, Brad Caleb Kane is a name that should ring some bells for those who watch frequent Max. Kane has been tapped as co-producer for the upcoming “Welcome To Derry” series and is behind other hit series such as “Tokyo Vice”, “Warrior”, and “Black Sails”. From the Deadline article:

“‘From the moment I watched Jason Voorhees squeeze a guy’s eyeball out of its socket (in glorious 3D!) at the tender age of 8 years old, I knew my creative path was someday destined to converge with The Man Behind The Mask,’ said Kane in a statement on his Crystal Lake hiring. ‘Nothing defined my childhood more than growing up in the golden age of the slasher flick, and nothing’s defined the genre more than Friday The 13th. I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to contribute a chapter to this iconic franchise, particularly with such fearless partners as Peacock and A24.’”

You can read more over at Deadline, and we can’t wait to see what Kane has cooking for us fans!
