A24's 'Friday The 13th' Prequel Series "CRYSTAL LAKE" Set For 2024 Premier
It’s been far too long since anything Friday The 13th has graced our screens but the folks at A24, Peacock, and Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) are actively working on bringing prequel series ‘CRYSTAL LAKE’ to you and the franchises original “final girl”, Adrienne King provides and update on the project.
In one post to Twitter, King shares a behind-the-scenes photo from her first writers meeting, while a post to Instagram suggests that the series is aiming for a 2024 premiere.
King writes on IG, “Happy Friday Campers! Bryan Fuller, our bloody brilliant Head Counselor/ Producer of CRYSTAL LAKE, the upcoming series & I had another exciting meeting filling me in on what’s in store for us at Camp Blood! Always a joy & can’t wait until I’m able share some details!” King’s Instagram post includes the hashtag, “#Coming2024.”
Peacock has given the project a straight-to-series order, with “Crystal Lake” being described as an “expanded prequel” to the original Friday the 13th franchise.
Variety had detailed, “The show will be written by Bryan Fuller, who is also the showrunner and an executive producer. Victor Miller, who penned the original film in the franchise, will also executive produce along with Marc Toberoff, Rob Barsamian, and A24.”
Kevin Williamson (Scream, Sick) will be writing an episode!
