"PÁRVULOS: CHILDREN OF THE APOCALYPSE" (2024) Merges Dystopian Horror, Family, And Zombies (TRAILER)
The time that it takes for a film to go from festival to wide release is getting shorter and shorter, at least for the most part. There was a time not that long ago when festival favorites were only available to the lucky industry folks who could attend, and a film would take over a year to go from theatrical to home distribution. For better or worse, things are happening much faster and the pipeline of great festival horror hits is increasingly becoming widely available for all genre fans to enjoy.
At last year’s Fantastic Fest, we had the opportunity to not only screen “Párvulos: Children of the Apocalypse” (although it was just “Párvulos” then) and even speak with Director Isaac Ezban (check our interview here). Now, the film is getting a theatrical release on April 4, 2025, courtesy of Firebook Entertainment. The synopsis for the film is as follows:
In a dystopian future ravaged by a viral apocalypse, three young brothers—Salvador, Oliver, and Benjamin—find themselves isolated in a remote cabin deep within the woods. As they navigate this desolate world, they harbor a dark and disturbing secret in their basement, a presence they must feed to ensure their own survival.
