AMAZON's ' I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER' Series Gets The Axe After Just One Season

Welp, that was fast. The series take on the 1997 slasher of the same name, ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ was going to be a modern re-telling and series of the original films premise. It premiered on Amazon last October but alas, will not be back.

Amazon Prime Video has made the decision to cancel the series after one season.

The first season’s finale does wrap up the central mystery, *mostly* answering the big questions raised throughout the season. Yet the series leaves itself open for a second season that, we will never see.

Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home, Jumanji: The Next Level), Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Cassie Beck (Connecting), Brooke Bloom (Homecoming), Sonya Balmores (“Inhumans”) and Bill Heck (I’m Your Woman) star.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a modern take on the 1997 film that honors the same chilling premise – in a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.

The project was based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan. I Know What You Did Last Summer was produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.

Sara Goodman wrote and executive produced along with executive producers Shay Hatten, Original Film’s Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty, and Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear.
