Chad Ferrin Invokes The Lovecraftian "UNSPEAKABLE: BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP" (2025) This March (TRAILER)
Adapting H.P. Lovecraft is easier said than done, and there is a long history of adaptations that both succeed and fail in trying to convey the author’s peculiar prose to the screen. The best ones often have to divert from Lovecraft’s narratives in order to expand upon characters, places, and above all the indescribable cosmic horrors that he’s famous for. The sordid history the genre has with the author also means that there is still a lot of opportunity to fine-tune some of his stories for the silver screen in a way that is both commercially successful and authentic to the original intent. If there is anyone who is up for this challenge, it’s Chad Ferrin and alongside Breaking Glass Pictures he is bringing us, “Unspeakable: Beyond The Wall Of Sleep.”
We have the trailer for you below ahead of the film’s release on March 4, 2025 along with some additional details about the film. From the looks of the trailer, we are going to get something akin to “The Exorcist III” with a lot more practical effects and a literal hell breaking loose. We hope to bring you a review closer to release, but for now enjoy what we have below!
From The Press Release
Breaking Glass Pictures proudly announces the worldwide release of Unspeakable: Beyond the Wall of Sleep, the latest genre-defying horror film from visionary director Chad Ferrin. Set to release on March 4, 2025, this adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's chilling tale pushes the boundaries of psychological terror and cosmic horror.
The film stars Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) in a riveting return to form as Ambrose London, a renowned oneirologist summoned to Arkham Asylum to investigate a bizarre split-personality case involving a patient seemingly possessed by a 122-year-old colonial peasant. What begins as a psychological study soon descends into unimaginable terror when London's "Dream Machine" unleashes an alien life form intent on world annihilation.
Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures, celebrated the release:
"Chad Ferrin’s Unspeakable: Beyond the Wall of Sleep, this H.P. Lovecraft adaptation, stands as the genre master’s most clever and outrageous work to date. Edward Furlong delivers his best performance in years, bringing an unforgettable intensity to this haunting tale."
Director Chad Ferrin expressed his excitement: "Thrilled to have Unspeakable: Beyond the Wall of Sleep, the final film in my Lovecraft trilogy, in the hands of Breaking Glass Pictures. Rich Wolff and his team did such an amazing job with my previous films that I know this boundary-pushing, gonzo film will get the passionate release it deserves from them."
