Director Of Photography, Powell Robinson, Discusses The Unique Look Of Hulu's "MR. CROCKET" (INTERVIEW)
One of the standout releases from this October was Hulu’s “Mr. Crocket” (our review). The idea of a children’s show host abducting children with negligent parents is a premise so diabolically exciting that we are surprised it hasn’t been done before. “Mr. Crocket” is also part of a blossoming series of genre period pieces focused on the look and vibe of the 90s, and part of making that connection to a specific time in our history comes down to the cinematography.
We here at Macabre Daily were fortunate to have a conversation with Powell Robinson, the Director of Photography on “Mr. Crocket” to discuss how he brought the 90s aesthetic into the modern era authentically. He also talks about how he collaborated with Director Brandon Espy and his long-term partnership with Production Designer Michelle Patterson. Check out the interview below as well as a sample of stills from the film. “Mr. Crocket” is on Hulu now, and you can follow Powell’s work on his website!
