Everything We Know About Lionsgate's 'BIG BAD' Film Adaptation!
I genuinely screamed when I heard this news…
Following the controversy surrounding ‘Scream VII’ and his subsequent departure from the project, Chris Landon is now attached to direct the film adaptation of Chandler Baker’s ‘Big Bad '. Lionsgate is in the process of closing a deal with Landon to direct and produce alongside Todd LIeberman and Hidden Pictures.
Originally published in the 2023 Amazon Creature Feature Collection, ‘Big Bad’ follows the Strausse family. Moving to a rural farmhouse is a point of contention in Sam and Rachel’s already fragile marriage. Sam is resentful and struggles to sympathize with his wife or children. Rachel has a wild side that even her family can’t tame. Their two children are constantly acting out. On top of this, recent mudslides in the area have forced the wolves out of the forest. When the moon rises, the Strausse family will have to face their monsters.
Lionsgate’s Scott O’Brien will oversee the project. Carly Kleinbart is the exec for Hidden Pictures, alongside Lieberman. Alex Young will be executive producer. Lionsgate’s Robert Melnik is overseeing the dealmaking for the studio..
The bestselling author of The Whisper Network and Cutting Teeth, Baker will be writing the film adaptation of her howlingly horrifying short story.
