Get ready to enter "A Town Called Purgatory!"
There just aren’t enough horror westerns. Sure there’s “The Burrowers”, “The Pale Door,” and “Bone Tomahawk” (sort of), but it’s an ambitious subgenre we could always use more of. Actor/Director Matt Servitto’s new film “A Town Called Purgatory” will scratch that itch and add some Native American horror to boot!
Servitto co-stars with the film’s writers, and the award-winning creators and stars of “The Night Watchmen,” Ken Arnold and Dan De Luca.
From the synopsis: In the haunting aftermath of the Civil War, principled Yankee Lawman Beau Riffen (Arnold) joins forces with Cody Parnum (De Luca), a tormented ex-Confederate tracker. Their quest to apprehend notorious train robbers leads them to Purgatory, a town eerily deserted.
Amidst the silence, they cross paths with a lone African American trapper and a prisoner harboring secrets who whispers of an ancient menace. As the shadows of Purgatory tighten, an impending confrontation with The Skinwalker beckons, testing bonds of trust and humanity in their gripping fight for survival.
Pennsylvania residents, take note. After the filmmakers took home the Best Horror Feature Award at the recent Garden State Film Festival, A TOWN CALLED PURGATORY will be screening April 19-21 at Creature Feature Weekend https://creaturefeatureweekend.com/ in Gettysburg, PA. Arnold and De Luca will be both attending and screening their film at a local theater as part of the event.
Next, the duo will be screening A TOWN CALLED PURGATORY in Pasadena at Monsterpalooza (www.monsterpalooza.com), May 31 to June 2, where Arnold and De Luca, as well as co-star Kevin Jiggetts, will also be attending the convention.
