Go Back To The 90s With The New TFR Movie "THE MITCHIN MURDERS"

Urban legends are creepy enough as it is. Focusing on the small-town scares makes you never want to cross the path of the town’s borders. That fear gets more intensified when you add the element of found footage horror to the mix. This found footage attempt blends the raw, immersive style of documentary filmmaking with the eerie, often supernatural elements of folklore. These horror movies typically present themselves as found footage that has been recently discovered by amateur documentarians or thrill-seekers. Their curiosity makes them want to deep dive into the mysteries and myths that are waiting to be uncovered. By grounding the horror in familiar, real-world settings and stories, these horror movies create a sense of realistic fright, heightening the terror as viewers are led to question the line between fiction and reality.

From The Press Release:

TERROR FILMS RELEASING has teamed with writer/director Jamie Bolton-Debbage to release his horror film, “The Mitchin Murders”.

Starring Georgie McGuigan, Robert Metson, Kate Winter, and Alistair Findlay. The movie follows two keen documentarians who enter the town of Mitchin to try and unravel a series of grisly murders carried out by what the locals call ‘The Boogie Man.’ Writer/Director Bolton-Debbage shared his thoughts about making the film in a recent press release from Terror Films Releasing:

“This is the first in a series of films we are making that I would state as called ‘hipster horror’. WithThe Mitchin Murders’, it is set in the 90s, so issues from the time are mentioned and the 90s film camera helps to create authenticity. It is very much female-led, and there are many twists and turns that the audience may not expect.”

TFR will release the film across multiple platforms on September 6th, 2024, including Amazon, Tubi TV, PlayNow Media, UDU TV, Kings of Horror, and many more. Stay tuned to Macabre Daily for our official review of this movie coming soon.
