Jackie Earle Haley Making His Come Back To Horror In New Game Show Slasher Flick "I'M YOUR HOST"
Just when you thought you hadn’t seen Oscar Nominee Jackie Earle Haley in a while, news has just broken that he will be returning to the horror genre in a brand new, game show slasher flick, “I’M YOUR HOST.”
A report from Deadline details the new film directed by DW Medoff (Pollen, I Will Never Leave You Alone) and was written by Joey Miller. The site gives a brief synopsis of the flick: the film follows a group of friends trapped in a deadly game show, where they must outwit a sadistic serial killer in a terrifying race for survival.
This announcement comes as the film has begun shooting in Rome this week.
So far casting has been confirmed with Ella-Rae Smith (The Stranger, Into the Badlands), Jamie Flatters (Avatar 2, 3 & 4, The Forgotten Battle), David Angland (The Devil’s Hour, Everything Now), and Joelle Rae (Get Even, The Gallery) set to be on screen with Haley.
Haley is no stranger to controversial characters as he played Rorshach in Zach Snyder’s “THE WATCHMEN” in 2009 and then had fans in an uproar in 2010 with his portrayal of Freddy Krueger in “A Nightmare On Elm Street” remake. We will say this about Haley’s acting, the man is a beast and can act his way out of a paper bag in our opinion but got the short end of the stick when it came to being cast as the “New Freddy Krueger” when New Line tried to bring back the NOES franchise for a younger audience.
No official release date as of this writing but with filming already underway in Italy, we should hear more rumblings about this one shortly.
