"KRYPTIC" (2025) Takes Cryptids To A New Cosmic Dimension! (TRAILER)
Cryptids are all the rage these days, and you need no more proof than the barrage of cryptdid creature features we’ve gotten in the last 12 months. From “Frogman” to the Chupacabra in “Cursed in Baja” those strange and legendary creatures are popping up everywhere. For the morbidly curious, there are places on the internet where folks devote their free time to hunting, studying, and discussing these creatures, and like all strange places on the internet the characters are what make it interesting. Some would even go as far to call themselves “monster hunters” or something akin to that, but what happens when someone who isn’t in the know gets mistaken for one?
That’s the question at the heart of “KRYPTIC” from XYX Films, Well Go USA, and Director Kourtney Roy. A woman’s searches for a missing monster hunter amongst her growing realization that she is inescapably linked to the creature being pursued in the psycho-thriller KRYPTIC, coming to Digital on May 9 from Well Go USA. The film stars Chloe Pirrie, Jeff Gladstone and Jason Deline and is directed by first-time director Kourtney Roy.
KRYTPIC has played at several film festivals including 2024 SXSW, Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, Calgary Underground Film Festival, Fantasia International Film Festival, Splat! FilmFest and International Fantastic Film Festival.
Synopsis
Kay (Chloe Pirrie) is in trouble. A strange encounter in the woods has left her with no memory. Only one thing is certain: she is the spitting image of missing monster hunter, Barb Valentine. When an intruder breaks into her house, she runs, with no idea where she’s going; but she knows her only chance to reconnect is to shed more light onto Barb’s mysterious disappearance. Random encounters seem to point her in the right direction, but what was hoped to be a journey of self-discovery gradually becomes a hunt for the monster itself.
