Latest Preview For 'THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE GAME' Focuses On Gameplay

Our friends over at IGN recently had a hands-on gameplay preview for Gun Interactive’s upcoming The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game, delving into the details with the 3v4 asymmetrical multiplayer. If that’s not enough we get a look at a pretty rad video as well.

Teamwork is vital in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, especially when it comes to this map, as there are very few ways out of the basement and only two ways out of the house.

While the players can’t kill The Family, they can be stunned. To further tip the scales, Victims can slip through gaps in the walls, as well as navigate around traps. Both The Family and Victims each have their own unique skills. For example, The Cook can listen for Victims and lock doors, requiring Victims to spend precious time unlocking them. Of course, Leatherface is big and burly, and not particularly fast. However, that trusty chainsaw can be used to cut down doors and cut off crawlspace entrances, not to mention that it can be revved up to deal additional damage to Victims. Rev it too much, however, and it’ll stall out.

Another interesting gameplay mechanic in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (for The Family, mind you) involves collecting blood that’s been shed around the house to feed Grandpa, which will level him up. Despite being a non-playable character, Grandpa acts as an all-seeing eye for the rest of The Family, and is able to spot and tag Victims roaming around the map, directing the rest of The Family to the Victim’s whereabouts.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre arrives in 2023 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on Xbox and PC.
