(VIDEO) MACABRE MONTHLY MEETS MENTAL HEALTH AND HORROR
Happy Friday fiends, and do we have a treat for you! This month’s Macabre Monthly is in honor of May’s Mental Health Awareness month. Specifically, we are talking about which horror films accurately portray mental health on screen versus those that just exploit it. Horror and mental health have been close bedfellows for some time, and yet, not every film gets the various disorders and issues right. So this month, we wanted to highlight films that do get it, and more importantly, why.
In addition, we also cover highlights of horror news from Macabre Daily and talk about what we’ve been watching. Before you watch, remember that it’s up to each of us to destigmatize talking about mental health and getting help. If you need resources, please check out SAMHSA’s site for support (US only).
