WONDER CON 2025 Takes Over The Anaheim Convention Center In Style (EVENT RECAP)

MacabreDaily had the eerie pleasure of roaming the halls and show floor of the Anaheim Convention Center this past weekend for Wonder Con 2025. From spine-chilling reveals to killer conversations, we’ve got all the highlights, must-see moments, and more—check it out below!

Wonder Con has made its home at the Anaheim Convention Center for over a decade, drawing fans from all over to celebrate comics, movies, TV, and pop culture in one of the biggest fan conventions on the West Coast. Since moving to Anaheim in 2012, the convention has only grown bigger and better, becoming a staple event for geeks and genre lovers alike. WonderCon 2025 continues that tradition, filling the massive convention center with excitement, exclusive reveals, and unforgettable moments and we were there for all of it this year so buckle up people, it’s gonna be a nerdy ride.

The Wonder Con show floor was a treasure trove of geeky goodness, packed with vendors offering everything from exclusive collectibles and stunning artwork to rare comics and pop culture memorabilia. Whether you were hunting for limited-edition figures, eye-catching apparel, or even handcrafted accessories inspired by your favorite franchises, there was something for every fan to geek out over. The energy was electric, with passionate attendees coming together to celebrate their love for all things fandom in an atmosphere bursting with excitement and creativity. We had the chance to chat with writer, director, and comic creator Jonathan Chance. He had an amazing booth, in the “artist alley” section of the show floor, and we had a chance to chat with him. We asked him what inspired him to showcase his artwork at WonderCon. “It’s been great so far. A little slow to start but has picked up nicely, and we’re seeing a lot of friends and supporters coming by, which always lifts our spirits. Wonder Con is always fun, and it allows me to gauge what people are into throughout the year so I can tweak and change things in my work if needed.” We appreciate Jonathan taking the time to speak to us and expect a more in depth interview in the future.

WonderCon 2025 once again transformed the Anaheim Convention Center into a pop culture paradise, delivering a weekend packed with everything a fan could dream of. Whether you were hunting for vintage movie posters, silver, bronze, or modern-age comics, or trying to reclaim the action figures your parents heartlessly tossed out when you "grew up," this convention had it all.

Panels ran throughout the weekend, covering every corner of fandom—anime, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and everything in between. No matter your niche, there was a discussion, deep dive, or Q&A waiting for you. Celebrity sightings were also in full swing, with actors and creators setting up shop for autographs and photo ops. Sci-fi fans were in for a treat as “Aliens” alumni Michael Biehn, Mark Rolston, and Ricco Ross reunited to meet fans and reminisce about their time as Colonial Marines in James Cameron’s beloved 1986 classic. Meanwhile, comic book royalty was well represented, with industry icons Todd McFarlane (Spawn, Spider-Man) and Jim Lee (Batman: Hush, DC Comics publisher) making appearances to the delight of collectors and aspiring artists alike. The lines were long but moved smoothly enough for everyone to get their items signed or photos taken. The atmosphere over the weekend was very chill. A lot more relaxed than San Diego Comic Con can get at times.

We were lucky enough to chat with the cast and filmmakers of Sony Pictures’ upcoming horror flick “Until Dawn” while roaming the halls of Wonder Con. Don’t worry—we’ll have all the juicy details for you in a separate article soon. But in the meantime, fans had the chance to step right into the nightmare with an eerie (and absolutely awesome) photo op smack dab in the (dead) center of the convention floor. The best part? It featured an actual, screen-used prop from the film, giving attendees a chillingly close look at what’s to come.

We had the absolute pleasure of chatting with the fine folks over at MONDO to see what collectible treasures they had in store for us—and let’s just say, they did not disappoint. First up, their new REAL GHOSTBUSTERS line was front and center, and we got our first look at the third figure in the series: Winston Zeddemore, packed with none other than the dream-haunting menace himself, The Sandman from the beloved animated series.

But wait, there’s more! Also on display was a brand-new “ALIENS” figure, inspired by the original ‘90s Kenner Toys line—the Mantis Alien. And if all goes well (fingers crossed), the “ALIENS” line will continue to expand, bringing even more nostalgic ‘90s throwbacks to life with modern-day upgrades. We’d like to thank Nolan Flemming and Shawna for showing us around the booth and chatting with us about each new item that caught our fancy. Mondo is top-tier fandom, and it’s a great joy to know that true fans are behind everything that comes from the company.

Not to be outdone, Loungefly had a stunning new “Bride of Frankenstein” backpack that quite literally had our hair standing on end with excitement. Whether you’re into ghosts, xenomorphs, or classic monsters, these booths had a little something to make every collector’s wallet cry. Also shown were mini-backpacks that featured “The Creature From The Black Lagoon”, “Dracula”, and another version of “The Bride Of Frankenstein.” Seriously, we had to pull our significant other away from this display as she wanted everything in it. We honestly can’t blame her…too much.

This year was a blast and truly felt like a comic book convention of yesteryear. Yes, at times it was crowded, and yes there were many sights, smells, and sounds to take in but we had an amazing time through it all, and we can not wait to attend San Diego Comic Con in July to bring you all the news it will have. See ya at the con!
