"MADS" (2024) Is A Zombie-Filled One-Take Of Terror! (TRAILER)
It’s hard to believe that zombie films have been around for 92 years. Since 1932’s epic, WHITE ZOMBIE, these films featuring the ravenous undead have become one of, if not THE, most popular subgenres in horror, launching the careers of George Romero, Danny Boyle, Peter Jackson, and Edgar Wright to name a few. It’s fertile, creative ground for directors starting out and, as evidenced by their films, can knock an audience right out of their socks. Recently, however, there’s been a shift away from zombies toward vampires, religious horror, and anything Dan Stevens is up to. That’s all about to change when MADS from director David Moreau hits SHUDDER on October 18th. Filmed in one long, continuous take, this film looks to reinvent what a zombie film can do and thrill audiences every second of the way. Take a look at the trailer below and start getting excited!
Synopsis
Eighteen-year-old Romain has just graduated and makes a stop at his dealer’s place to try a new pill. As he heads off to a party, he sees an injured woman on the side of the road and decides to help her, but when she gets in his car, she suddenly smashes her own head against the dashboard, bleeding out until she dies. Is this a bad trip? Or is it something else? One thing is for sure, it’s only the beginning of the night.
