"MARSHMALLOW" (2025) Director Daniel DelPurgatorio Talks About The Horrors Of Growing Up (INTERVIEW)

For our money, “Marshmallow” is one of the best and most original horror films we have seen this year. It is rare that a film contains so many genuine surprises, while at the same time conveying the difficulty of growing up in such an authentic way. From a great cast of young actors who are on their way to even bigger careers, to friend of the site Andy Greskoviak’s heartfelt and terrifying writing, there is a lot to love about this genre-bending horror film from Hemlock Circle Productions releasing in theaters on April 11, 2025.

We at Macabre Daily were fortunate enough to speak with the film’s director, Daniel DelPurgatorio, who has written and directed films, shorts, and music videos (along with a personal favorite “Tales from the Black Freighter”) and also provided visual effects for films including “Gags the Clown” and “The Stylist” from former guest Jill Gevargizian. Check out the interview below and stay tuned for one with the film’s writer, Andy Greskoviak, coming later today!
