New ALIEN Series For FX Has WETA Effects Handling The Xenomorph's Design
If you’re like us, any and all news related to the first ever ALIEN tv series from FX, has your “Spidey-sense” tingling well we have some pretty rad news for you.
Our friends over at AvP Galaxy are reporting this week that the team over at Weta will be handling the Xenomorph creation for the series, responsible for “designing and bringing the Xenomorphs to life in Noah Hawley’s upcoming FX series.”
The site goes on to note that a this time, they do not know if the series will feature more practical effects vs CGI or the other way around, though of course Weta is more than capable of handling both sides of the effects game between Weta Digital and Weta Workshop.
What we know so far about the series (which isn’t much) is that it will take place on Earth and be a total of 8 to 10hrs running time if it was a film.
FX had teased, “Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth.”
Last we heard, Ridley Scott is expected to be on board as producer.
Expect to wait until 2023 for the return of the Alien franchise.
