Original "Bat In A Birdcage" Gag Gets Added To Disneyland's THE HAUNTED MANSION
Sometimes old things are made new again and this is exactly the case with a new gag that was recently spotted after the refurbishment of ‘THE HAUNTED MANSION’ at Disneyland.
The gag in question was actually an original concept design by the rides creator, Marc Davis back in the 1960s!
DL News Today shares photo and video of “Bat on a Birdcage”, which randomly appeared next to the hallway scene in the iconic dark ride.
“Located in the extended hallway next to the face armchair, we see a birdcage on a stand with two glowing red eyes and bones sticking out. Next to the cage are two empty glasses of what previously seem to have contained blood,” they write.

Strangely enough, the gag only lasted a few days and has since been removed again. The gag was never announced, and there’s no word on why it appeared and disappeared in just a week’s time. Perhaps one of the 99 happy haunts there is playing a prank on us? Either way, we hope it returns to the mansion soon.
