Razzie Award Nominations Include A Few Horror Films

It’s awards season, and that includes the Razzies! A long-standing tradition in the realm of media and entertainment, which some decry as nothing but salacious hatred and controversy, is also doling out new nominations in tandem with some other premier awards shows. Much like most years, the horror genre makes an appearance more than a couple of times unfortunately drawing the wrong kind of attention to some of the films that the genre produced last year. While other mainstream award shows often disregard the genre, at least we can count on the Razzies for a little representation.

Some of the genre films that ended up on this year’s worst nomination list are Universal/Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer, Meg 2: The Trench, and Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey. While there are other nominations for the genre in other categories, it is unfortunate that half of the films on the “worst of” list are horror films. The Hollywood Reporter has a full list of the nominations if you’re keen to check them all out.
