Scarlett Johansson Confirms Casting In JURASSIC WORLD 4: Teases an "Incredible" Script

Marvel/Disney

Scarlett Johansson has taken a step back from the Marvel universe and is now taking on some prehistoric foes in the Jurassic World franchise, we can confirm this morning.

We mentioned a few weeks back that she was in talks to star in a new Jurassic World film, making this the fourth in the dino-lead franchise. This, what some call, a “soft reboot” of the Jurassic Park franchise began with Jurassic World in 2015 with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard leading the pack and being a huge hit at the box office, coming away with over $1.6 billion when everything was said and done.

As most things go in Hollywood, this lead to two more films in the Jurassic World franchise, and now that the series has taken a little two-year break since 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion, it’s time to venture back into the land of the dinos.

The fine folks over at Comicbook.com have the exclusive news regarding Johansson being cast and recently conducted an interview with the star asking how she got involved in the film as well as if joining another franchise was exciting for her or not.

"I'm an enormous Jurassic Park fan. It's one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was like life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am."

This new film in the Jurassic World franchise has simply been given the title of Number 4 by fans since we have yet to see an official title given by Universal. Another familiar face has come aboard this new flick, writer David Koepp. Now if that name is familiar to you it’s because Koepp originally wrote the screenplay for Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Comicbook.com has another quote from Johansson regarding Koepp’s return to the franchise.

"The script is so incredible," Johansson continued. "David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He's so passionate about it, which is so awesome."

Someone sounds excited.

Jurassic World 4 is being directed by Gareth Edwards and not Spielberg this time around as well but good ol’ Uncle Spielberg is attached as an executive producer, naturally. No word on an official release date but we’ll keep you posted as usual.
