The infamous hook-wielding “Fisherman” killer is making a terrifying return as Sony Pictures revives “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with a brand-new reboot. The official poster for the flick has been released online and of course, we have that for you and much more below.

A few months back, we let you know that both Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt would be returning to the teen slasher franchise of “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” Now we have the first official poster for the flick that will hit theaters on July 18th, 2025. It’s been over 25 years since both actors have been in the world of “The Fisherman,” and we are eager to see how they handle a serial killer as middle-aged adults rather than teens. All we know for sure is, blood will definitely be spilled, and when it comes to revenge, no one ever truly forgets.

Our friends over at Comingsoon.net were able to aquire the official synopsis for the new film.

“When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them, and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge.

“As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.”

With a cast that includes Billy Campbell, Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq WithersJonah Haur-King, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Austin Nichols, and more, alongside director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge), this modern slasher has all the ingredients for a killer comeback.

It’s exciting to see more female directors making their mark in the horror genre, bringing fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of what truly terrifies us. We can’t wait to see how this one unfolds!
