THE EXORCIST REBOOT - Ellen Burstyn Hints She May Have Already Filmed Her Scenes!
A horror franchise MANY do not want to see rebooted is of course. The Exorcist, with David Gordon Green (Halloween Ends) set to direct a brand new sequel to the original classic after he’s finished with the Halloween franchise. Universal and Blumhouse are working together to bring this direct sequel as well as two more films to the franchise.
Ellen Burstyn is back as Chris MacNeil and will star alongside Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Knives Out 2).
Eagle-eyed fan @jandry_says over on Twitter this week, noticed that the legendary actress made a pretty interesting comment about the upcoming movie in a chat with Daily Blast Live back in February of this year.
“I’ve already shot the new version… nothing weird happened [on set]. There was a lot of weirdness on the first one,” Burstyn commented about her return to the franchise, indicating that the film may not yet be completed as a whole but at least her scenes are done.
Macabredaily has learned the first film in the trilogy will be released theatrically on October 13, 2023.
Here are the plot details we have as of now for the film as well…
“Odom Jr. will play the father of a possessed child. Desperate for help, he tracks down Ms. Burstyn’s character.”
