THE GOD LIST – A Grisly Adventure For A Mysterious Book.

Steve Niles has been busy because we’ll see two original Storm King releases from him in July. We’ve already covered Killing Hole, the grounded, psychological thriller, but Steve is also giving us a dark supernatural mystery with The God List.

With the help of writer/artist Scott Hampton, Steve brings us into a globe-trotting adventure of terrifying secrets, ruthless conspirators, and supernatural violence, all centered around a mysterious book. William, an unassuming book dealer, comes into possession of a mysterious volume. In pursuit is an otherworldly organisation hellbent on destroying the contents of the book. With the help of a mysterious woman named Lydia, William travels across Europe to find the world’s greatest experts on the book, only to discover that the pursuers will stop at nothing, including the most grisly and supernatural forms of violence, to get their hands on the pages. William and Lydia’s journey will take them to the most unexpected final destination for a face-to-face confrontation unlike any other.

“With The God List, Steve and Scott have created a fantastic piece of escapism, the kind of wholly original, exciting, and thought-provoking story audiences used to expect to see at the movies every summer,” said Storm King Comics founder and editor Sandy King. “Filled with chases through shadowy streets, a fascinating mystery, and a rich mythology of its own that pays off in an extraordinary way, it’s truly a wild ride.”

Sounding like a mix of Indiana Jones and Lovecraftian-style cult horror, this will certainly be one for those who like their mysterious treasure hunts with supernatural undercurrents. It will all hang on if the reveal will live up to the anticipation, though with Steve Niles, we’d expect nothing less.

The God List and The Killing Hole will both be featured at the Storm King Comics booth at San Diego Comic-Con, where Sandy King will be joined by a host of comic creators.

THE GOD LIST will be available July 17, 2024, through direct sales, including at www.StormKingComics.com, and at comic shops; it debuts at retail booksellers on July 30
