"THE SOUTHERN BOOK CLUB'S GUIDE TO SLAYING VAMPIRES" Is Being Adapted On HBO With Danny McBride And Edi Patterson!
When it comes to capturing the zeitgeist in the horror genre, there are few better authors than Grady Hendrix. From “Paperbacks From Hell” to “Horrorstör”, Hendrix has found a niche writing about everyday people in extraordinary and horrific situations that harmonizes humor and horror in perfect alignment. He’s also no stranger to having his work adapted for the screen, and based on the news from Deadline it looks as if another one of his books is heading to our TV screens!
According to reporting from Deadline, “A comedy series based on Grady Hendrix’s New York Times bestseller ‘The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires’ has landed at HBO, with the author writing alongside The Righteous Gemstones duo Danny McBride and Edi Patterson.”
McBride is no stranger to the horror genre as he was part of the writing team responsible for the Blumhouse Halloween Trilogy, and Patterson should ring familiar as another collaborator of McBride who has also done some writing work for SNL and The Righteous Gemstones. This news is still very early on, but it seems as if the three will work together on the script for HBO and unclear when we can expect production and casting to begin. We will bring you more news to sink your teeth into as it becomes available!
