Welcome Villain Asks You To Open The "PUZZLE BOX" This October (TRAILER)
Horror as a metaphor for addiction isn’t treading new ground. Still, the prevalence of substance abuse and overdoses (as well as the lack of commitment to genuinely effective treatment, not prisons) persists as a point of conversation regardless. The impact of substance abuse and addiction has been presented both as a figurative and literal interpretation in the genre, usually in association with loss of self-control and/or possession. Welcome Villain, the team behind some of our favorite films like “Malum” is exploring the horrors of addiction in their latest found footage feature, “Puzzle Box.”
With a new trailer that dropped last week, “Puzzle Box” looks to be just as frightening and disorienting as the rest of the catalog from Welcome Villain and we can’t wait to check this out. Peep the synopsis and trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be opening this “Puzzle Box” on October 11th!
Synopsis
PUZZLE BOX follows recovering drug addict Kait, who flees to a house in the woods to self-rehabilitate. Joined by her sister Olivia, who decides to document the process, strange things begin to happen as the house's layout mysteriously begins to change, and the two find themselves trapped inside an inescapable, nightmarish puzzle box of a house.
