1982 Video Nasty 'UNHINGED' Getting Official Remake Next Year

Don Gronquist directed ‘Unhinged’ in 1982 and it quickly landed on the “Video Nasties” list of the 80s. Now it seems the film is getting a proper remake.

Proportion Productions and ChampDog Films are behind the Unhinged remake, with Scott Jeffrey (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey) on board to produce the new take.

Rebecca J. Matthews and Louisa Warren are also producing the new movie.

The film is set to star Ella Starbuck (Crocodile Vengeance), Betsy-Blue English (Sky Kraken), Sian Altman (Curse of Humpty Dumpty), Toby Wynn-Davies (Area 51 Incident) and Chloe Karr.

Scott Jeffrey let it be known that the Unhinged remake will be a “very close remake” to the original 1982 Video Nasty, “but sprinkling in a modern setting.”

He also teased, “It will be an incredibly suspenseful and dark film with a shocking twist.”
We don’t have word yet on a director but expect that news sooner than later.

In the 1982 movie,

“College students, Terry, Nancy and Gloria are on their way to a rock concert, driving through a torrential rainstorm… only to crash their car, badly injuring one of them. Seeking shelter and aid they come across a house occupied by a man-hating mother and her daughter… our trio soon wish they hadn’t when a shocking twist is unearthed.”

Here’s the original film’s trailer to get you ready for the flick.
