88 FILMS ANNOUNCE A STACK OF NEW RELEASES FOR MAY & JUNE

 

Leicestershire’s (that’s pronounced ‘less-tur-sheer’) own 88 FILMS are bringing a bumper crop of new releases to Blu in May and June.

First up is the CHARLES BRONSON Poliziotteschhi movie VIOLENT CITY; After being framed for a murder during a bloody shoot out, assassin Jeff Heston (BRONSON) is finally released from prison and immediately sets about seeking the pair who betrayed him.

Next up is COREY YUEN’s HERO (no, not that one); a high octane tale of criminal gangs, betrayal and greed.

Also due in May is SANDY HARBUTT’s STONE. Released a full five years before GEORGE MILLER’s MAD MAX, STONE kickstarted the Ozploitation explosion with a story about undercover cops, outlaw motorcycle gangs, sex, violence and revenge.

Released May 30th

June sees the release of DRIVE starring MARK DACASCOS in a new 4K transfer; a prototype enhanced human (DACASCOS), on the run from Chinese hit-men, hooks up with a dread-locked bystander, and the two of them elude their pursuers narrowly each time.

The mighty CHOW YUN-FAT stars in the next offering for June, THE SEVENTH CURSE; the story of a young, heroic cop in the jungle of Thailand who is attempting to rescue a beautiful girl from being sacrificed to the Worm Tribe to which she belongs. As a result, the cop is damned with seven "Blood Curses” (this one looks mad as shit, son)…

Some good, old fashioned slash n’ sleaze is next up with the long-awaited release of MARDI GRAS MASSACRE; originally one of the 72 titles added to the U.K. Video Nasty list, this movie concerns itself with the police manhunt for a masked psychopath who is ritualistically murdering teen girls during Mardi Gras week in New Orleans. This title is listed as being a Deluxe Collector’s Edition which is really rather exciting…

And for the final announcement we have MARTIAL CLUB, a 1981 offering from the SHAW BROTHERS, tells the story of two friends who find themselves and their martial arts schools pitted against a rival school which uses a Kung Fu expert from the North to do their dirty work…
