Anchor Bay And Jeff Daniel Phillips Want You To Get "CURSED IN BAJA" (TRAILER)

There’s something about homegrown and DIY filmmaking that’s infinitely interesting. Watching how filmmakers take minimal resources and sometimes churn out genre-changing films (just look at Damien Leone and “Terrifier”) that offer something more raw than what you get from the studio system. Surprisingly, more genre filmmakers don’t regress backward and revisit their DIY routes more often, but then again, money talks, right? That’s why we’re thankful for folks like Jeff Daniel Phillips, who you may know from his various stints in Rob Zombie’s films, and his approach to bringing SOV back to the mainstream with his latest guerilla production, “Curesd In Baja.”

We previously reported on this when it was announced as part of this year’s FrightFest, and now we have a trailer and a release date to share. See below for a synopsis and trailer, and be on the lookout for “Cursed In Baja” as it arrives in select theaters and VOD on October 29, 2024!

What Phil Noble Jr. of Fangoria has to say about “Cursed In Baja”

“A handmade fever dream that smashes together scuzzy crime noir with surreal creature horror. Fans of neo-noir, practical fx and psychotronic cinema will have much to enjoy here. Possibly the world’s only chupacabra crime thriller! Wild woozy and weird. WTF!” -
