BELLA THORNE TO STAR IN THRILLER FROM ‘AMERICAN PSYCHO’ SCREENWRITER
Singer, actress, model, and infamous OnlyFans user, Bella Thorne, is set to star in the thriller, SAINT CLARE, being co-scripted by AMERICAN PSYCHO scribe, Guinevere Turner, according to a report by Deadline.
The film will be directed by Mitzi Peirone (Braid), who also joined with Turner on the screenplay for the film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ “American Psycho.” Screen Media has already picked up the international rights to the project, which will have its launch at this month’s Cannes market, with Screen Media distributing the film here in the U.S.
The film will follow Clare Bleecker (Thorne), a quiet Catholic college student with a divine vocation for killing. The story is based on the novel, “Clare At 16” by Don Roff.
Deadline reports: “‘Producer Arielle Elwes added: “We’re thrilled to be working with the incredible Bella Thorne; she is so perfect for the role. Mitzi is the real thing, and I can’t wait to see what she cooks up for what will be a great franchise.’”
Thorne is best known for movies including Midnight Sun, The DUFF, The Babysitter series and Amityville: The Awakening, as well as TV series such as “Famous In Love” and “Paradise City.”
In addition to Thorne, the filmmakers are also currently in negotiations with Rebecca DeMornay (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Risky Business) to join the cast. Production for the film is expected to begin soon in Kentucky.
