Filming Has Begun On MAD MAX: Fury Road Prequel 'FURIOSA' Starring Anya Taylor-Joy!
Next up from director George Miller is the spinoff flick for Mad Max: Fury Road entitled Furiosa. It follows Charlize Theron’s character who was introduced in Fury Road and gives a back story on where she came from.
The Witch and The New Mutants star Anya Taylor-Joy is taking over the role, and co-star Chris Hemsworth announced on Twitter yesterday afternoon that filming is now underway.
Furiosa will release in theaters on May 24, 2024. The film will tell the origin story of the character Theron made famous in Mad Max: Fury Road, also directed by George Miller.
“Whereas Fury Road essentially happened over three days and two nights, this happens over many years,” Miller had teased during a press conference last year.
Miller is co-writing and directing the movie for Warner Bros.
