Eight unsuspecting high school seniors at a posh boarding school, who delight themselves on playing games of lies, come face-to-face with terror and learn that nobody believes a liar - even when they're telling the truth.

Upon watching Cry Wolf for a second time I quickly released that while it may take from some of the post SCREAM and URBAN LEGEND vibes this movie was an extremely smart and intelligent horror/suspense movie.

Both our main characters, played by Julian Morris and Lindy Booth are very good in their roles alongside of the likes of Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) and even Jon Bon Jovi as an english teacher!! And yes he can actually act!

Director Jeff Wadlow shows that even with a small budget and basically no name cast at the time, once the concept at its core is right then you’ve got yourself a gem. This movie definitely forced me into the story and kept me interested right until the end credits.

If you think you are good at solving mysteries and who the killer may be, think again! This movie offers so many different twists and turns right until the end. Just when you think you have it all figured out it takes yet another direction right before the credits roll.

While there is complaints regarding the fact this movie is a PG-13 rating which means it is missing most of the nudity, gore and profanities that we all expected with teen slasher movies. This doesn’t affect the movie at all as it is not the goal with it’s small budget and smaller named actors (as of 2005).

The plot doesn’t focus so much on how many deaths the killer can rack up before the 90minutes runtime is up and more so about keeping the viewer guessing right till the ending. While it could have capitalised on some tense scenes slight more and I would have liked a handful more jump-scares, you’ve got to give credit to everyone involved for pulling this movie off.

While the movie is a real product of it’s time and hasn’t aged well, those with an open mind will enjoy this throughly from the start. A forgotten gem in the genre.
