FRIDAY THE 13th Producer Teases Possible Big News For Franchise Very Soon!

The Friday the 13th franchise has been in production limbo for years. With so many legal issues surrounding the franchise and sequels, prequels, reboots, etc, being teased, it’s very easy to yawn at any news concerning the franchise since most of the time nothing moves forward.

The latest on the franchise was that Sean Cunningham, the original movie’s director, and Victor Miller, the original movie’s writer, have been fighting over who gets control of what. You can check out those details below.

Nothing can happen until both parties agree to work together…but perhaps they have and are just keeping the news under wraps as producer Roy Lee has provided fans with an interesting tease this week.

Speaking with Bloody Disgusting’s The Boo Crew Podcast, the powerhouse producer of hit horror films including The Ring, Poltergeist (2015), Blair Witch, IT (2017) indicated that a return to Crystal Lake is imminent, with news on the Friday the 13th front coming very soon.

Roy Lee told the folks over at The Boo Crew, “That one is something that I would love to talk about. You may be hearing something by year’s end… on that front.”

Again, this is more of a tease than an actual confirmation of forward movement for the franchise and we will keep you posted if things develop.
