HBO Releases First Images From Upcoming Series "IT: WELCOME TO DERRY"
Are you ready to float? We know we are and since today is Halloween, HBO has just released our first look at the new upcoming prequel series “IT: WELCOME TO DERRY” with some new set photos and we have them for you below!
Many horror fans have been eager for this new series based on the Stephen King novel “IT” and since the films were released in 2017 and 2019, respectively, it’s been a few years since we’ve seen that beloved and downright evil clown, Pennywise. The series, from Warner Bros. Television and developed for television by filmmakers Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti (“IT,” “IT Chapter Two”) and Jason Fuchs (“IT Chapter Two,” “Wonder Woman,” “Argylle”), will debut in 2025 on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. Andy Muschietti will direct four episodes of the nine-episode series is what we’re being told by HBO.
The series will star Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård. We’re stoked that Bill Skarsgård will be reprising his role in the films as Pennywise. We loved the 90s made-for-TV movie “IT” starring Tim Curry as Pennywise but must admit that Skarsgård knocked it outta the park with his performance in the updated remakes.

We appreciate that HBO has not spoiled things and shown Pennywise in any of these new images they released. Sometimes the anticipation pays off and it’s better to wait and watch the series to see how things look in the moment.
We hope that this series gives us that creepy vibe we got while watching IT: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. We truly feel that Pennywise is still the top clown on the block so move over Art as the king returns to make all the children in Derry float!
