James Wan Eager To Return To Horror After 'Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom'
Could this be a return to THE CONJURING Universe?
There’s no doubt that James Wan has made his name a prominent one in Hollywood over the last 20yrs. From horror to block buster super hero films and beyond, Wan is definitely a person of interest when it comes to film making and now, when he has just completed work on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the final film in the extinct DC Extended Universe, he's looking for something a bit closer to his roots.
Speaking with Collider, Wan mentions an interesting bit of news in regards to the horror genre he knows so well. The man was behind SAW and INSIDIOUS so he knows how to scare the pants off us horror folks.
In the interview, Wan admits that he wants to maybe delve into a smaller film to get his feet wet so to speak back in the horror realm.
"You know, I have a tendency to want to go back and forth. So, whenever I make a smaller film, I wanna go and make a big film. Whenever I'm doing a big one, I'm like, “Oh, I wanna go and do a smaller film,” and when I do my smaller films, it tends to be a horror film. So, you know, I feel like the itch for horror is potentially calling, but we'll see."
Here’s hoping Wan comes back home to horror sometime soon.
